Help feed, clothe, house, and "Give Hope" this giving season
#GivingTuesday 2024
Join SVdP in Helping Our Neighbors in Need this Winter
Dear Friend,
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago Archdiocesan Council, is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those in need throughout Cook and Lake Counties in Illinois. We have been reaching out in our local communities since 1857. We offer rental and utility assistance, clothing, food, a free mattress program, and other basic needs just to name a few. This is all accomplished by the work of our many Vincentian volunteers throughout our 84 conferences who serve with hearts full of love and compassion and “Give Hope” to our Friends in Need.
SVdP Chicago has the experience of being a force of good throughout times of war, global pandemics, economic crisis and social changes. We help anyone regardless of race, religion, political association or gender.
We hope you'll support our initiative by making a donation this #GivingTuesday, December 3. Your contribution will allow us to continue our mission to assist those who are on the brink of homelessness, or without food, or who need clothes for themselves or their children for school. These daily requests come from families, the elderly, Veterans, single moms, etc. Whatever their request for assistance may be, our mission is to ensure we are there to help. Our 2024 goal is $30,000. No matter how big or small your donation may be, every contribution will bring us closer to that goal. Below is just a brief summary of some of the things we have been able to accomplish over the past year:
- Help the homeless with clothing and food.
- Provide our homeless adults and children with new under garments, socks, personal hygiene kits, shirts/sweatshirts and sweatpants, pots and pans, shoes, etc.
- Provide the homeless with backpacks filled with wool socks, hygiene kits, under garments, and winter clothing to keep them warm during our long Chicago winters.
- Provide our struggling Friends in Need assistance with their rent or utilities, food, clothing, medical assistance, beds, furniture, and hope.
- Share a sizeable portion of last year’s #GivingTuesday proceeds with our SVdP Chicago Districts to distribute amongst our 84 Conferences to help others in their respective communities.
We look forward to your support. If you’d like to learn more about our organization and the impact of our initiatives, please visit our website at www.svdpchicago.org or follow us on social media.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Your generosity will make a significant difference and will help us “Build a Better Tomorrow for Those in Need.”
