Join SVdP in Helping Our Neighbors in Need this Winter.

On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, we are joining the national day of generosity, #GivingTuesday. It is a day when you can make a big impact on the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago and those we serve.

Last year SVdP Chicago and its Conferences were able to help thousands of people with utility bills, rent, food, transportation, and medical expenses thanks to the generosity and hard work of our Chicagoland Vincentians and dedicated supporters. For 2021, our goal is to use the funds raised during #GivingTuesday to meet the increased calls for short term assistance in our local communities. Due to the continued economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are anticipating a significant rise this winter among those we serve for food, clothing, and housing assistance.

SVdP Chicago has been reaching out in our local communities throughout Cook and Lake counties for over 168 years. We have the experience of being a force of good throughout times of war, global pandemics, economic crises, and social changes. Our volunteers serve with hearts full of love and compassion and the Society helps anyone regardless of race, religion, political association, or gender.
  • We’ve fed countless in need in Chicago and the suburban communities through our food pantries, holiday meal baskets, community dinners, and other local events.
  • We’ve clothed the homeless, struggling young families, and Veterans trying to make it during rough patches in their lives.
  • We’ve housed those on the brink or in the midst of homelessness through referrals to shelters, locating affordable housing, or paying rent during a short-term set-back. And we’ve continually offered hope to the most vulnerable in our communities when they’ve no place else to turn.

With your support and generous donation, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago and our dedicated volunteer members can take action against poverty, and together we will make a difference this holiday season!
